On Tuesday 18th October Squirrel Class will be visiting Butser Ancient Farm as part of their learning about the Anglo Saxons and Vikings.
Morning Routine: Families enter via the woodland gate where school staff will greet children. Children come in and hang up their coats and bookbags.
Things your child needs to bring: Your child needs a small rucksack, pencil case and a named, refillable water bottle filled with water from home (PLEASE, NO SQUASH OR JUICE). All children will need a warm, waterproof coat in school each day and should wear their school uniform unless it is Squirrel Class PE day or Forest School day.
PE Days: Squirrel Class PE lessons are on Monday afternoons. Children should come to school dressed their PE kit - shorts, t-shirt and plimsolls. As the weather gets colder children will need jogging bottoms, sweatshirt and trainers.
Forest School: Squirrel Class Forest School sessions are on Wednesday afternoons. Children should come to school dressed in their Forest School kit:
- Tracksuit bottoms
- Long sleeved top and a jumper
- Waterproof coat and trousers
- Warm socks and wellies
- Gloves
Illness: Please phone the school office on 01483 222442 to let us know if your child isn't attending school for any reason. Please don't send your child to school if they're generally unwell, for example with a temperature or sickness or diarrhoea. School office staff will ask you about the symptoms of your child's illness to see if there is a pattern with other children in school with similar symptoms.
To help your child to get the most out of school and avoid spreading infection to others, please don't send them back to school until they've been well for 24 hours. If your child has vomited or had diarrhoea they must stay away from school until 48 hours after the last bout of illness.
End of the Day: If your child is being collected from school by someone other than their parent or regular carer, please let a member of school staff know. You can do this either in person or by phoning the school office, or writing a note. If someone other than a parent will regularly collect your child from school, please let us know in writing and we will keep a note of the arrangement.
