Clandon C of E School

Clandon C of E School A caring community where all can THRIVE

    Religious Education

RE lessons across the school are based on the Guildford Diocese scheme of work.  Children learn about the Christian faith: what Christians believe, the Bible and the effect that activities such prayer, worship, reading the Bible and living life as a Christian has on believers.

Children also learn about Judaism, Islam, Hinduism and Buddhism.

RE is taught in a variety of creative ways.  Units covered by each year group are shown in the documents below.

In the lead up to the major Christian festivals of Christmas and Easter, Clandon School holds a "Pause" day.  On these days the normal school timetable is suspended for the day as children across the whole school take part in a variety of activities focused on the approaching festival.  Pause days sometimes end with the children attending a church service led by Father Barnaby.  Some children may take part, reading poems or prayers, or singing.  The childrens' families are invited join the school at these services.
