    Online Safety Links for Families

ONLINE SAFETY: At Clandon School we teach children about how to stay safe when they are online.

    • When we talk to people in the playground, or on the internet using a computer, tablet or phone we should be polite and friendly.
    • Strangers are people we don't know.  Children learn they shouldn't talk to strangers in real life, or on the internet.
    • Sometimes people are not who they say they are.
    • If children are worried about something, or someone, when they use computers, tablets or phones then they should tell an adult.

We introduce children to some characters to help them keep safe online.  They can find out more, and introduce you to the characters by visiting the ThinkUKnow web page:

Social media and online gaming offer an exciting virtual world for children and teenagers.  There is an increasing risk of online grooming affecting both boys and girls.  Surrey Police has launched a campaign to raise awareness of this among young people and their parents, sharing tips about how to stay safe online.  The links below are to websites providing helpful guides to social networks used by children and young people, helping you stay up to date and keep your child safe in the digital world.
