    Woodlands (YrR/Yr1/Yr2)

    Children in Early Years and Key Stage 1 need freedom to learn predominantly through play.  This positively promotes the way children naturally learn and enables each child to develop a solid foundation for their education. 

    Our Woodlands learning hub, based in Homelodge, provides learning across two classrooms and well-resourced outdoor areas enabling all children to learn through a mix of play and focused learning.  Children's learning is supported by our experienced team of staff.

    Woodlands classes:

    YrR Rabbit Class Yr1 Badger Class Yr2 Robin Class

    Morning Routine: Children enter through the Homelodge front door where they are greeted by school staff.

    Things your child needs to bring: Your child needs a bookbag and a named, refillable water bottle filled with water from home.  All children need a warm, waterproof coat in school each day and should wear their school uniform unless it is Forest School day (see below). 

    PE

    PE is on Friday each week for all Woodlands children.

    Children need their PE kit available in school every day:

    • shorts

    • PE t-shirt

    • plimsolls

    and in colder weather also:

    • jogging bottoms

    • sweatshirt

    • trainers

    Forest School

    Forest School is on Tuesday morning each week for Rabbit Class and Wednesday morning each week for Badger and Robin Classes.

    Children should come to school dressed in their Forest School kit:

    • Tracksuit bottoms (with leggings underneath in very cold weather)

    • Warm layers with long sleeved tops and a jumper

    • Warm, waterproof coat and waterproof over-trousers

    • Warm socks and walking boots or snow boots

    • Gloves
