Clandon C of E School A caring community where all can THRIVE

Squirrel Class (Year 3 and Year 4)

    Welcome to Squirrel Class 2018-19

    Staff

    Mrs Fox: Teacher

    Mrs Bailey: Teaching Assistant (morning)

    Mrs Penn: Teaching Assistant

Mrs Cocke: Teaching Assistant (Friday morning)

Morning Routine: Children in Squirrel Class are becoming increasingly independent. Parents can support this by saying goodbye to their child at the bottom of the ramp to come into the classroom on their own.  Once inside, children organise their coats and bookbags, fill their water bottle for the day and change their own reading book. Children then get on with their early work, ready for the register at 9.00am.

Illness: If your child is ill please phone the school office early on the first morning of their absence.  It is helpful if you can let us know the symptoms of your child's illness.  To help your child to get the most out of their time at school and avoid spreading infection to others, please do not send them back to school until they have been well for 24 hours. If your child has vomited or had diarrhoea they must stay away from school until 48 hours after the last bout of illness.

PE Days: Squirrel Class has PE lessons on Tuesday and Friday.  Each child must have a pair of shorts and t-shirt for gymnastics as well as jogging bottoms, a sweatshirt and trainers for games when the weather is colder.  PE kits should be left in school during term time and children will bring their kit home for washing during holidays.

End of the Day: If someone other than you is going to collect your child from school, please let us know.  You can do this either in person, by phoning the office or by writing a note.  If someone other than you will regularly be collecting your child from school it is helpful if you let us know in writing so we can keep a note of the arrangement.

Classroom Volunteers: Extra help in the classroom is always appreciated, whether it is a regular commitment or occasional help when you are able to.  From time to time we also need help on trips or with special activities in school.  If you are interested in volunteering to help please speak with Mrs Fox.  All volunteers in school must complete a Disclosure and Barring Scheme check.
