Morning Routine: Children in Squirrel Class are becoming increasingly independent. Parents say goodbye to their child at the bottom of the ramp.  Once inside, children hang up their coats and bags before getting on with early work in the classroom, ready for the register at 9.00am.

Illness: If your child is ill it is important that you phone the school office as soon as possible on the first morning of their absence.  Please let us know the symptoms of your child's illness so we can see a pattern if other children have similar symptoms.

To help your child to get the most out of school and avoid spreading infection to others, please do not send them back to school until they have been well for 24 hours. If your child has vomited or had diarrhoea they must stay away from school until 48 hours after the last bout of illness.

PE Days: Squirrel Class go swimming on Mondays and PE lessons are on Wednesdays.  All children should have their PE kit in school every day during term time and will bring it home for washing during holidays.  Each child must have a pair of shorts and t-shirt for gymnastics.  They also need jogging bottoms, a sweatshirt and trainers for games when the weather is colder.

End of the Day: If someone other than you is collecting your child from school, please let us know.  You can do this either in person, by phoning the office or by writing a note.  If someone other than you will regularly be collecting your child from school it is helpful if you let us know in writing so we can keep a note of the arrangement.

Classroom Volunteers: Extra help in the classroom is always appreciated, whether it is a regular commitment or occasional help when you are able to.  From time to time we also need help on trips or with special activities in school.  If you are interested in volunteering to help please speak with Mrs Toone.  All volunteers in our school must complete a Disclosure and Barring Scheme (DBS) check.
