Morning Routine: Families enter via the woodland gate and school staff greet children at the bottom of the Culmer Lodge ramp.  Children in Kestrel Class are confident about being independent.  They come into school and organise their coats and bags before getting on with early work, ready for the register.

Things your child needs to bring: Your child needs a small rucksack, pencil case and a named, refillable water bottle filled with water from home (PLEASE, NO SQUASH OR JUICE).  All children need a warm, waterproof coat in school each day and should wear their school uniform unless it is Kestrel Class Forest School day - see below.

PE Days: Kestrel Class PE lessons are on Wednesday afternoons.  Children should come to school dressed their PE kit - shorts, t-shirt and plimsolls.  As the weather gets colder children will need jogging bottoms, sweatshirt and trainers.

    • Warm socks and wellies
    • Gloves

Illness: Please phone the school office on 01483 222442 to let us know if your child isn't attending school for any reason.   Please don't send your child to school if they're generally unwell, for example with a temperature or sickness or diarrhoea.  School office staff will ask you about the symptoms of your child's illness to see if there is a pattern with other children in school with similar symptoms.

To help your child to get the most out of school and avoid spreading infection to others, please don't send them back to school until they've been well for 24 hours.  If your child has vomited or had diarrhoea they must stay away from school until 48 hours after the last bout of illness.

End of the Day: If someone other than their parent or regular carer is going to collect your child from school, please let us know.  You can do this either in person, by phoning the office or by writing a note.  If someone other than you will regularly be collecting your child from school it is helpful if you let us know in writing and we will keep a note of the arrangement.
